We’re a startup with an ambitious goal - to bring big data to a very traditional industry - insurance. With teams in London and Delhi, we’re passionate about powering the future of insurance.
We’re data scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, developers, and insurance specialists. We’re also guitarists, rally drivers, athletes, art collectors and investors. We’re an astonishingly diverse bunch with shared values and this suits the way we work.
We listen to our customers and stakeholders to understand their business inside and out, and develop products or solutions that solve their problems.
We set clear expectations and communicate directly and respectfully with each other, even if it’s a difficult conversation. Trust and mutual respect is demonstrated by taking the time to understand one another and our roles.
We’re doing something that’s never been done before and that means it won’t always be perfect. Together we celebrate and learn from our mistakes.
These principles guide the Concirrus way of life. We believe in teamwork measured by deeds rather than seniority, and a culture that is open and inclusive.
What does a typical day look like? My day starts with making sure everything in our Delhi office is comfortable for the team to come and work. Then I spend my time managing Vinod’s busy calendar!
What do you like most about your job? I like the environment here which is hard to describe in words - the freedom, positivity, occasional chuckling moments with the team. I love the challenge of making Vinod most effective by taking out noise and creating time for him to focus on his work.
What did you do before Concirrus? I was in a similar role at Amazon and, prior to that, I was with a law firm based out of Delhi, doing office and client management work.
Fun fact: I came to Concirrus from a very corporate environment, so I started out being very professional and careful in what I did or said. But, within a week, we were out for a team drink and I became myself which got me a new nickname “Bhai Ji” - Big Bro.
What does a typical day look like? I don’t have a routine and this is the best thing about being a data engineer! Every couple of days a new challenge comes up, a new problem waiting to be solved.
What do you like most about your job? I love the challenges of my role! I’m not just talking about the coding, the maths or even the stats or modelling (although these are challenging, fun and a pain in their own right), but also the complexity of the business – i.e identifying what people need.
What did you do before Concirrus? I was an R-developer/Statistician at a U.S software company. They had their own interesting challenges, however now at Concirrus the data is much larger, and the languages have changed.
Fun fact: I have a love of travelling and have been to a good number of places throughout the world. For the start of 2019 I’m aiming to tick Malaysia & Vietnam off the bucket list.
What does a typical day look like? Coffee is a key ingredient for successful coding! So, my focus is on enhancing the features of our motor product as per client requirements while having some freshly brewed latte.
What do you most like about your job? Coding is a huge challenge and I love the problem solving opportunities this provides. Sometimes it feels a bit like a battle and I’m constantly improving my battle skills!
What did you do before Concirrus? I've worked for a number of companies like Estee Advisors, Techcurl, Genpact as a Software Developer. Most recently I worked for Estee, it is an algorithmic trading company which trades in Indian and international stock markets.
Fun fact:Trouble finds me, and they say that I can't see speed bumps while driving.
What does a typical day look like? It varies from day to day, however a typical day for me usually consists of some general admin duties, greeting guests, social media monitoring, content posting, market research and assisting with database management.
What do you like most about your job? I like the fact that I am constantly learning new skills and there is a lot of opportunity to progress and grow. You also get a lot of support which is so helpful.
What did you do before Concirrus? I had recently graduated from the University of Kent with 2:1 in Sociology and was working for Tribe Marketing as a Brand Warrior.
Fun fact: I have an identical twin sister!
